Assault - Around 10:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of an assault. The victim, a 17 year old young man from Warwick, stated that he and another young man were riding a motorcycle along Khyber Pass in Warwick when they were accosted by two young men travelling in a black car in the area of Random Lane. The victim sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The other individual on the motorcycle was not injured. It appears that the victim knew his assailants. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
Disturbance
Around 9:40pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a disturbance at the Southampton Rangers Sports Club. Officers arrived at the premises a short time later and spoke with the manager who indicated that a scuffle had taken place; however, the offenders had made good their escape prior to Police arrival. No one made a complaint to Police while they were at the scene. Officers maintained a visible presence at the club until all patrons had dispersed and left the area.
Around 4:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a disturbance. It appears that the victim, a 22 year old Pembroke man, was initially assaulted by an unknown man with a blunt object as he left the Shelly Bay Pizza House restaurant. His assailant left the scene on a motorcycle and the Pembroke man proceeded to travel by car to the Crawl Hill Esso service station. While at that location the victim saw the same individual who assaulted him earlier. Words were exchanged between the two men and a scuffle took place. Members of the public managed to separate the men; however, as the 22 year old Pembroke man was walking to the car he arrived in to leave, he was attacked again with a blunt object by the unknown man. The offender then made good his escape on a silver/grey Yamaha motorcycle. The victim was taken to KEMH where he was treated for injuries to his ribs. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’4” tall of slim build wearing a red & black Helly Hanson jacket, dark blue jeans, black sneakers and a black helmet. He is believed to be in his early 20s, weigh around 130 pounds and was riding a silver/grey Yamaha V80 motorcycle with red, yellow and green stickers. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
Weekend Activity
Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 reported burglaries. There were also 14 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 4 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 4 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
