Robbery - Around 3pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery at Boaz Island Shell Service Station & Marina in Sandys parish. It appears that at 6:50pm on Wednesday, an unknown man entered the service station, brandishing a machete and demanding money. An employee who was inside the premises at the time grabbed a fishing knife which is sold at the service station and chased the offender out of the building. The employee, a 27 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The suspect escaped on foot with a pack of cigarettes and was described as a brown skinned male, approximately 5’11” tall of slim build wearing a blue jacket with two vertical lines across the chest, blue jeans, white sneakers and a dark coloured helmet with a black visor. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
Burglary
At 5:25pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Coral Acres Drive, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 9:30am and 1:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a gold bracelet. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 5pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Tablerock Avenue, Pembroke residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 8:45am and 4:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry and electronic equipment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 2:40pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Granaway Heights Road, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:30am and 2pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. At 9:25am on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Spicery Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am on Wednesday and midnight on Thursday, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a black HP laptop computer and a BlackBerry cellular phone. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
