Burglary

At 3:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Windy Ridge Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that an unknown culprit gained entry into her home around midnight on Saturday. The culprit stole approximately $10 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 2:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Lighthouse Lane, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 9am on Thursday and 6pm on Saturday an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an I-Pod Shuffle and an Omega watch. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 7 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 10 reported burglaries (1 in Southampton, 4 in Warwick, 2 in Paget, 1 in Devonshire and 2 in Pembroke). There were also 14 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.

Media Note

Today ay 3pm the Bermuda Police Service will hold an official opening ceremony for the new Southside Police Station, located at the old #2 gate of the former U.S. Naval Air Station in St. George's. However, the media will be given a preview of the facilities at 2:30pm. All media are invited to attend.
