Injury RTC - Around 4:20 this morning, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. John’s Road in Pembroke. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however, it appears that a car was traveling along St. John’s Road near Gorham’s when the driver, a 21 year old Pembroke woman, lost control and collided with a house in the area. The Pembroke woman sustained injuries to her head and chest while her front seat passenger, a 24 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained a laceration to his left arm. Both attended KEMH for treatment; the driver was kept for further observation while the passenger was treated and released. Apparently both the car and the home were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Collin DaSilva on 295-0011.
Sudden Death
Around 7:10pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a sudden death at a Cedar Vale Lane, Devonshire residence. It appears that the deceased, a 65 year old American woman (from Florida), was found in an unresponsive state inside the home by friends. She was pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 8:25pm. Foul play is not suspected. Inquiries into this incident are underway. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.
Pursuit/Injury RTC
It appears that around 2:10am on Saturday, Roads Policing Unit personnel were involved in the pursuit of a motorcycle traveling along North Shore Road in Devonshire. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however the rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Smith’s parish man, subsequently lost control and was involved in a collision in the St. Mark’s Road/Collectors Hill, Smith’s parish area. The Smith’s parish man is believed to have sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. He was treated, subsequently released and arrested on outstanding warrants.
