Robbery

Around 3:55 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery on Middle Road in Paget. The victim, a 71 year old Pembroke man, stated that around 2:30am he was sitting in his car which was parked at the Paget Shell Service Station when an unknown man approached him, stabbed him in the arm with a bladed article and demanded money. After a brief struggle, the Pembroke man handed the suspect approximately $40 in cash. The suspect then made good his escape on foot. The victim sustained cuts to both hands and a wound to his right arm. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

At 7:20pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported robbery on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. The victim, a 59 year old man, stated that around 7pm he was walking along Pitts Bay Road to the Primavera Restaurant when he was approached by two young black men in the vicinity of Monty's Restaurant. One of the men demanded money from the victim, before taking his wallet and pushing him to the ground. Both suspects then got on a motorcycle and made good their escape traveling east on Pitts Bay Road. The wallet contained $57 in cash and personal items. The victim was taken to KEMH for treatment of minor head injuries after striking his head when he was pushed to the ground and later released. The suspects are described as two young black men wearing dark coloured coats and black helmets. They are believed to be teenagers, between 5' and 6' tall. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Suspicious Circumstances

At 3:05 this morning, Police received a report of a man with a bladed article on South Road in Paget. The complainant a 56 year old Warwick man, stated that around 2:45am he was riding his motorcycle west on South Road near the Coral Beach Club when an unknown man walked into the road and swung a 'sword' at him. The suspect the walked off towards the Coral Beach property. The suspect was described as a light skinned male, approximately 5'8" tall of slim build, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a grey sweat top and grey pants with a red stripe on the side. The complainant was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries (1 in St. George's, 1 in Devonshire, 1 in Pembroke, 1 in Paget, 1 in Southampton and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 14 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
