Media Note - Magistrates Court, Monday, August 3rd 2009
On Monday, August 3rd 2009 six men were brought to Magistrates Court under Police escort for the plea court session as a result of the fracas that took place at St. George’s Cricket Club on Friday, July 31st.
One of the Police officers was seen to cover the face of one of the suspects as he was getting out of a Police vehicle. There has been considerable public interest as to why.
One of the suspects began to spit at members of the media and public. In the abundance of caution, the officer in question covered the suspect’s face to avoid anyone getting sprayed with the obnoxious bodily fluid.
