Injury RTC - Around 5pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Church Road involving a car and a bus. It appears that the bus was traveling east on Middle Road and the car was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, an 82 year old Southampton woman, sustained abrasions to her right elbow. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance, treated and released. The driver of the bus, a 52 year old St. George’s man, was not injured. The car received extensive front end damage while the bus received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 5:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Friswells Lane, Pembroke residence. On arrival Police spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 7am and 5pm that day, unknown culprits gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprits stole a 37” Visio flat screen TV and a GPS system. Inquires into this incident are underway.

Witness Appeal

The Marine Police are investigating a complaint of several bright spot lights being shone at the wheel house of the fast ferry ‘Tempest’ as it entered the area of Two Rock Passage approximately 10pm on Monday 27th July, 2009, as the ferry completed its Dockyard run and was returning to Hamilton with 176 persons onboard. Police are asking anyone who witnessed this incident including passengers onboard the ferry to please contact the Marine Police Unit at 299-4585. Marine Police would like to advise the public such behavior is extremely dangerous and could have tragic results.
