At 5:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Reid Street Extension in Pembroke. It appears that a jeep was traveling south on King Street when the driver, a 24 year old St. George's man, attempted to negotiate a left hand bend on to Reid Street Extension. As he did so, he swerved to avoid another vehicle and lost control, colliding with the sidewalk and a utility pole. The jeep's windscreen was shattered as a result. The St. George's man sustained minor cuts and abrasions to his hands. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test.
