Robbery

Around 4:15am on Sunday, Police received a report of a robbery at the junction of King Street and Middletown Road in Pembroke. The victim, a 49 year old Pembroke man, stated that earlier he was walking in the area when he was approached by a group of young men. One of the young men pushed the victim to the ground; the group then removed the 49 year old man's pants, which contained an unknown amount of cash and personal items, as well as his jacket, shirt, shoes and watch. The suspects then made good their escape on foot, leaving the Pembroke man in his underwear. The suspects are believed to be in their teens and were wearing dark clothing. The victim was able to describe one of the suspects as approximately 6' tall and heavy set. It appears that the victim was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Damage Only RTC

At 1:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Tribe Road #3. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, a 39 year old Southampton man, attempted to negotiate a left hand bend and lost control. As a result, the vehicle collided with a wall. The car received extensive front end damage. The driver was not injured.

At 9:05am on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, a 33 year old Southampton man, lost control and collided with the curb, causing the car to overturn. The car received extensive front end damage. The driver was not injured, but was taken to KEMH for treatment of a pre-existing medical condition. He was later released.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 3 reported burglaries (1 in Pembroke, 1 in Paget and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 13 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 9 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
