Around 2:10pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of an industrial accident at a construction site on the Fairmont Southampton Princess hotel property. On arrival officers observed the victim, a 52 year old Warwick man, receiving treatment from Bermuda Fire Service personnel. It appears that the victim was working on a ladder when he fell approximately 15 feet to the ground, sustaining serious facial injuries and a possible broken left wrist. The Warwick man was then taken to KEMH via ambulance and at last check was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The Government Health & Safety Officer is aware of this incident. Inquiries are underway.
Burglary
Around 6:55pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Happy Valley Road, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 10:45am and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an Apple laptop computer and a Sony digital camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 5:35pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Leacraft Hill Road, Southampton residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 8:15am and 5:30pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole a diamond ring and a 42” plasma TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Believe It Or Not: Assault
At 11:05am on Tuesday, Police received a report of an assault. The victim, a 34 year old Pembroke woman, stated that she was working at a Queen Street, City of Hamilton business when the suspect, a 40 year old Sandys parish woman, entered the store. It appears that the Sandys parish woman took up two items of clothing and noticed that no tags were on them. She apparently complained about this, resulting in an argument between the two women. The suspect then punched the victim in the face and a scuffle ensued. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
