Injury RTC Around 1:30am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Rocky Lane involving two motorcycles. It appears that both cycles were travelling east on North Shore Road when the front wheel of the trailing cycle came into contact with the muffler of the cycle in front. As a result the rider of the trailing cycle, a 21 year old Hamilton parish man lost control, mounted a sidewalk and collided with a wall. The Hamilton parish man sustained facial injuries and broken ribs and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. He is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The rider of the other cycle, a 19 year old Devonshire man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Damage Only RTC/TWOC/Impaired Driving At 9:45pm on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Old Road. It appears that initially the driver of the car, a 51 year old Pembroke woman and her front seat passenger, a 46 year old St. George’s man stopped at the Crawl Hill Esso gas station to put some fuel in her vehicle. However, while she was inside paying for the gas, the St. George’s man drove off with the vehicle. He travelled west on North Shore Road before losing control and colliding with a pole. The 46 year old St. George’s man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. |
