Disturbance Around 3:15 this morning, off duty Police officers observed a disturbance on King’s Square in St. George’s. It appears that three unknown men assaulted a lone male victim on the square, punching and kicking him to the ground. During the assault one of the suspects brandished a bladed article, while another brandished a blunt object. The third suspect appeared to be unarmed. The suspects then made good their escape in a car heading west. The off duty officers followed the suspects in another vehicle and alerted on duty Police units. As a result the suspects, a 17 year old Pembroke man, a 21 year old Pembroke man and a 22 year old Pembroke man were apprehended on Harrington Sound Road after a brief pursuit. Two bladed articles and a blunt object were subsequently recovered from the suspects’ vehicle. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for the victim as well as any witnesses to this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011. Injury RTC At 5:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget near Lower Ferry involving two auxiliary cycles and a car. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Harbour Road in a line of traffic when the rider, a 17 year old Paget man, overtook several vehicles. The other auxiliary cycle, ridden by a 44 year old Southampton man, was traveling in the opposite direction. The two cycles collided, causing both riders to fall to the ground. One of the cycles then struck the front of the car. The rider of the westbound cycle sustained a fractured ankle. He was treated at KEMH for his injury and released. The rider of the eastbound cycle sustained a broken right shoulder. He was also taken to KEMH for treatment of his injury. The driver of the car, a 44 year old Southampton woman, was not injured. All vehicles received front end damage. The 17 year old Paget man was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention. Inquiries into this incident are underway. |
