At 4:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish, near the junction with Tamarisk Hill involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road when the pedestrian, a 72 year old Smith’s parish man, attempted to cross the road. The Smith’s parish man sustained a laceration to his leg as well as abrasions to his head, hands and back. The rider of the cycle, a 26 year old Devonshire man, sustained abrasions to his left hand, face and lower body. The 72 year old Smith’s parish man is currently on a general ward at the hospital. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Object Thrown at Bus

Around 4:10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of an object thrown at a bus in the Claytown area of North Shore Road in Hamilton parish. Police then attended the scene and spoke with the bus operator, a 41 year old Hamilton parish man. It appears that the bus was traveling east on North Shore Road when someone threw a bottle which shattered one of its windows. The bus had approximately 25 students on it at the time. One of those passengers, a 14 year old St. George’s girl, was injured and sustained minor facial injuries (a cut to her left cheek) as a result. A 16 year old young man from St. George’s was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway.
