Traffic Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the motoring public that at 8am on Saturday, February 11, 2006 Works & Engineering will be moving two of the temporary homes from the Government Quarry in Smith's parish to Morgan's Point in Sandy's parish.

They will be moved from the Government Quarry along Harrington Sound Road, over Knapton Hill on to South Road, Middle Road, then back on to South Road to Barnes Corner before switching to Middle Road and ending at Morgan's Point.

We are advising the motoring public to expect some delays along the route during the move. If at all possible, motorists should take alternate roads to get to their destination and avoid any possible delays.

VISA Credit Card Scam

The Bermuda Police Service Fraud Unit is aware of a VISA credit card scam which is in circulation on the island, mostly by e-mail. The correspondence asks the recipients to go to a fake website to update their 'profile' to ensure the security of their VISA card transactions. The subject line of this deceptive correspondence reads: Attention! Several VISA Credit Card bases have been LOST! And it also appears to come from a genuine corporate e-mail address. However, we would like to advise the public that this correspondence is not legitimate and that individuals/businesses should not respond to these requests for personal or banking information.

For more information, contact the Fraud Unit on 299-4430.
