Around 6pm on Sunday, October 5th first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Khyber Pass.
It appears that two cars were being driven along Middle Road in opposite directions when they collided.
A passenger in one of the cars, a 14 year old Warwick girl, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment and later discharged.
Both vehicles apparently received extensive front end damage.
The 31 year old Warwick woman driving one of the cars involved was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Motorcyclist Injured in Paget Collision
Around 2:30am on Saturday, October 4th first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Point Finger Road in Paget involving a motorcycle and a police vehicle. The injured motorcyclist, a 30 year old Hamilton parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
At last check he was in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital. There were no other injuries reported. Inquiries regarding this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact Sergeant Raoul Ming at the Hamilton Police Station on telephone number 247-1704.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend police officers arrested four people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested 15 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
