Suspected ‘Marlboro Bandit’ Arrested

A 53 year old Hamilton parish man has been arrested in connection with the reported attempted theft and theft of cartons of cigarettes from at least two stores. Inquiries are ongoing.

10th Hurricane Fabian Memorial

Today at 2pm the Bermuda Police Service took the opportunity to remember the four people that were lost in Hurricane Fabian. At the Kindley Field Park Memorial Bench erected in their honour, Constable Richard Austin paid tribute to colleagues Constable Stephen Symons, Constable Nicole O’Connor and Station Duty Officer Gladys Saunders, as well as Corporation of Hamilton employee Manuel Pacheco. The remembrance was capped off with a moment of silence and a final tribute of flowers thrown into the ocean.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the Labour Day holiday weekend, police officers arrested two people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested 16 people for outstanding warrants, responded to five reports of loud music and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
