Reported Assault in Devonshire

At 11:05am on Friday morning police responded to a report of an assault that took place at the junction of Frog Lane and Palmetto Road in Devonshire.
It appears that a 19 year old man was set upon by three males. One of the males brandished what is believed to be a bladed article and cut the victim on his hand. It should be noted that the injury does not appear to be serious.
The suspects then stole the victim’s motorcycle and fled the area. The 19 year old male refused to make a complaint to the police however inquiries into the matter are on-going.
Man Arrested After Reported Assault
Around 6:45pm on Thursday, January 9th police officers attended a reported assault onboard a bus in the Middle Road, Southampton area near Industrial Park Road.
It appears that the bus stopped to let off passengers in the area when the male bus driver was assaulted by a male passenger following an earlier verbal exchange. A female passenger came to the bus driver’s aid before the assailant exited the bus.
The bus driver apparently sustained relatively minor injuries. The female passenger that came to his assistance was not injured.
The suspect, a 23 year old Southampton man, was subsequently arrested in the surrounding area in connection with the incident. During the arrest, a quantity of suspected controlled drug was seized. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
