Around 6:35am on Friday, February 28th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Industrial Park Road. Initial information suggested that a car and a motorcycle were involved.
However, it now appears that a female passenger exited a bus that stopped in the area and attempted to cross the road when she was struck by a motorcycle. The pedestrian, a 48 year old Sandys parish woman, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of head and leg injuries. At this time the extent of her injuries is unknown.
There were no other injuries reported. The collision caused significant delays for many morning commuters from the west end. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Lesa Stovell at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
Reported Two Vehicle Collision in Pembroke
Around 9am on Thursday, February 27th first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Beacon Street in Pembroke.
It appears that a truck was exiting Beacon Street and a motorcycle was being ridden along Cedar Avenue when the collision occurred.
The motorcycle rider, a 58 year old Smith’s parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
At last check he was recovering in stable condition on a general ward. There were no other injuries reported. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Aaron Dyer on the main police telephone number 295-0011.
Reported Missing Person Kanaz Tuzo Located
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 30 year old Kanaz Tuzo. He has since returned home.
