Around 4:30pm on Tuesday, September 2nd first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near Jews Bay.
It appears that a van and a motorcycle collided, injuring the motorcyclist. The victim, a 70 year old Sandys parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
Both vehicles were damaged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Barbi Harris at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
Advisory: Online Scams
Once again the Bermuda Police Service Financial Crime Unit would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant regarding phishing e-mails and other online scams that attempt to obtain personal information or other sensitive data.
Examples include misleading e-mails claiming to be from local banks, asking the recipient to update their security details. It is strongly recommended that any similar unsolicited correspondence be ignored.
In addition, residents are reminded that personal information regarding banking details, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers are valuable and that this information should never be relayed over the internet or phone to unknown persons.
