Motorcyclist in ICU After Collision With Ambulance

Around 4am on Saturday, March 1st first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Riviera Road.

It appears that an ambulance was being driven along Middle Road and a motorcycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist, a 19 year old Southampton man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via another ambulance for treatment.

At last check, he was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. There were no other injuries reported; however both vehicles were damaged.

Update: Pedestrian Injured in Reported Serious Southampton Collision

The 48 year old Sandys parish woman injured when she attempted to cross the road and was struck by a motorcycle around 6:35am Friday, February 28th on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Industrial Park Road remains in hospital. At last check she was recovering in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Lesa Stovell at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested nine people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
