Arrest on Suspicion of Impaired Driving - Around 12:30am on Saturday, May 4th police officers attended a reported single vehicle collision along Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Quarry Road.
It appears that a car was being driven along Harrington Sound Road when the driver collided with the roadside railing. The vehicle then went down an embankment.
The car was found unoccupied with extensive front end damage. However further inquiries located the driver, a 39 year old St. George’s man, who was apparently uninjured. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested five people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested 17 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
