Arrest on Suspicion of Impaired Driving - Around 11:45pm on Friday, March 1st police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle auxiliary cycle collision in the North Shore Road, Palmetto Road and Barkers Hill Devonshire area.
It appears that the auxiliary cycle rider, a 32 year old Devonshire man, collided with a traffic island at the junction of North Shore Road and Palmetto Road. The rider was injured, taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and released.
The Devonshire man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested four people on suspicion of impaired driving. Officers also arrested 11 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
