Sudden Death - On Sunday, March 31st at approximately 8am police and first responders attended a report of a sudden death that took place on Addendum Lane in Pembroke. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a 42 year old guest worker’s lifeless body was found in his room by his roommate. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are underway, however foul play is not suspected.

Arrest

Meantime, police were on mobile patrol in Sandys Parish at around 3:40am in the area of Somerset Road and Ladder Lane when then noticed a male on a cycle acting suspiciously. Officers approached the cycle in an attempt to make initial contact with the rider. However, the rider tried to make good his escape but lost control of his cycle and was apprehended by the police. Checks by officers revealed the cycle was stolen. The man was arrested and taken to the police station where he was processed and detained.

Arrest on Suspicion of Impaired Driving

At 9:55pm on Friday, officers were on mobile patrol in Hamilton Parish when they noticed a driver, operating his vehicle at high speeds and swerving over the center-line. The vehicle was stopped by police in the area of My Lord’s Bay Road. Officers then spoke to the driver of the car and it was at that time they smelled alcohol on the suspect’s breath. The 25 year old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and later bailed to appear in court in the near future.
