Western Community Action Team ‘Meet & Greet’ Well Attended - The officers of the Western Community Action Team (WCAT) would like to thank all area residents and members of the public that attended the Police Mobile Command Centre at Somerset Marketplace parking lot on Wednesday from 11am to 7pm.
During the day WCAT officers provided home security advice and other safety tips to residents while encouraging community feedback regarding neighbourhood concerns and potential solutions.
Due to the popularity of this event the Bermuda Police Service Community Action Team units will be holding further ‘meet and greet’ information sessions in other areas throughout the island.

Traffic Advisory
The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the motoring public of the traffic diversion in the Marsh Folly Road, Palmetto Road Pembroke area.
The Department of Works and Engineering has advised that the detour is necessary due to an embankment collapse on the southern side of Palmetto Road and Marsh Folly Road.
Until this can be rectified, the Department of Works and Engineering have placed signs on Palmetto Road alerting motorists to divert on to Bishop Spencer Road. In addition, a section of Palmetto Road has been closed to all traffic until further notice.
However, apparently not all road users are complying with the posted signs and barriers, causing unnecessary traffic congestion in the area as well as a potential safety hazard.
The motoring public is therefore urged to adhere to all posted road signage in the area and where possible, take alternate routes until the situation has been corrected.
