Male Security Guard Stabbed Outside Front Street Liquor Store [Updated]

Around 8:15pm Wednesday, January 15th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported assault outside Carousel Liquors on Front Street in the City of Hamilton.

It appears that a 46 year old St. George’s man working as a security guard was involved in an altercation with another man that approached him, after that individual arrived on a black motorcycle.

During the scuffle the security guard was stabbed about his body. The assailant then left on the motorcycle, apparently traveling out of the City of Hamilton.

The security guard was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect is described as male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a bald/shaved head, wearing a black helmet, black jacket, blue jeans, black socks and flip flops.

The scene has been processed and inquiries continue.

Any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744 as soon as possible.

Update: Friday, January 17th - The 46 year old male security guard stabbed by another man around 8:15pm Wednesday, January 15th outside Carousel Liquors on Front Street in the City of Hamilton has been treated and discharged from hospital.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the suspect, described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a bald/shaved head, wearing a black helmet, black jacket, blue jeans, black socks and flip flops, riding a black motorcycle.

Detectives continue their inquiries and any witnesses that have not already come forward are once again encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

Renewed Appeal for Assistance in Locating 17 Year Old Ja’da Thomas [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is renewing the appeal for public assistance in locating 17 year-old Ja’da Thomas.

Ms. Thomas is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, with bright eyes and short black hair worn in a ponytail puff.

She is also said to be of medium build, weighing around 150 pounds.

Ms. Thomas was last seen at home by her brother as she was preparing to leave for school at the CedarBridge Academy around 8am Tuesday, 14th January.

So far efforts by police officers to locate her have been unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 17 year-old Ja’da Thomas is asked to call the main police line on 295-0011 as soon as possible.

Update: The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating Ja’da Thomas.

She has now been located and returned.

Ongoing Appeal for Whereabouts of 14 Year Old Destiny Winters [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for information on the whereabouts of 14 year old Destiny Winters and thanks the public for their assistance so far.

There has been a recent sighting of Destiny in the Flatts area Tuesday, January 14th around 12 noon. Apparently she was with an unknown male at the time.

The 14 year old CedarBridge Academy student is described as brown complexioned, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds with dyed black short, curly hair.

Destiny was last seen wearing a black rain jacket, shorts as well as black Nike sneakers.

The teen has been unaccounted for since last Friday evening (January 10th), after leaving her designated Government Care Facility without permission.

She is known to frequent locations in Pembroke including Fentons Drive, Parsons Road, St. Augustine Hill, Middletown, One Way Deepdale and The Glebe Road.

Police officers continue their efforts to locate her.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 14 year old Destiny Winters is asked to call police on 295-0011 or her designated Government Care Facility on 292-3699.

Update: Wednesday, January 22nd - 14 year old Destiny Winters has been located and returned to the care of the Department of Child and Family Services.
