Arrests Made at Warwick Property - Around 10pm Wednesday, May 29th police officers responded to a noise complaint at a South Road, Warwick property.
On arrival officers smelled what was believed to be illegal narcotics. A quantity of suspected controlled drugs and cash were subsequently detected and seized.
13 persons were arrested at the location and later released on police bail. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
Single Vehicle Collision
Around 3:40pm Saturday, June 1st police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on North Street in Pembroke near the junction with Court Street, in the vicinity of TCD.
It appears that a car was being driven through the area when it collided with a wall. The driver, a 56 year old Pembroke man as well as the front seat passenger, a 35 year old St. George’s woman, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
At last check both were recovering on a general ward. There were no other injuries reported. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested nine people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested 13 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
