Near Drowning - At 1:38pm on Saturday June 22nd police responded to a report of a near drowning at a guest property in Flatts. On arrival, police spoke to a complainant who stated he was watching his two daughters and turned away for a short moment; however when he turned back he noticed his 4 year old daughter unresponsive in the water. He immediately went in, pulled his daughter out and began CPR. The ambulance was called and conveyed the young girl to the hospital. She was revived at the scene and is now resting comfortably on the Children’s Ward of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents and guardians to keep an eye on their children in the water at all times, as it only takes seconds for something tragic to happen.
