Update: Reported Serious Collision in Devonshire - At last check the 19 year old Pembroke man seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck around 3:30pm Monday, June 17th on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Devon Heights Road remains in critical condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

Man Injured at Front Street Pub

Around 1:15am on Saturday, June 15th police and first responders attended a reported incident at The Docksider Pub & Restaurant on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. Details are unclear; however on arrival officers observed patrons assisting an injured male. The 40 year old Smith’s parish man was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of relatively minor injuries and subsequently discharged. Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the main police number 295-0011.

Community Meeting for Smith’s Parish Residents

Eastern Area Commander Chief Inspector Tracy Adams along with Eastern Community Action Team officers will be hosting a community meeting for Smith’s parish residents on Thursday, June 20th at St. Patrick’s Church hall from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

At the meeting Chief Inspector Adams will make a brief presentation, introduce residents to their parish Community Action Team officer and seek to address any concerns.

Additional community meetings will be held in various parishes in the near future.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the National Heroes’ Day holiday weekend, police officers arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested 19 people for outstanding warrants, responded to 11 reports of loud music and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
