Single Vehicle Collision in Devonshire - Around 1:50am on Sunday, January 6th police officers on mobile patrol along Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Orange Valley Road encountered an overturned car. The driver, a 45 year old Devonshire woman, sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and a court appearance for the driver is anticipated in due course.

Robbery

Around 7:15pm on Saturday, January 5th police officers responded to a reported robbery at Belvin’s Variety in Hamilton parish. It appears that a lone offender entered the store brandishing a bladed article and demanded money from a female employee. The offender then escaped on foot with an unknown quantity of cash. The female employee was not injured. Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Belvin’s Variety in Flatts around the time of this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Reported Gunshots in Pembroke

Around midnight on Saturday, January 5th police officers responded to a report of gunshots in the King Street, Pembroke area. An initial search of the surrounding area was conducted; however no evidence of a firearm being discharged was found and there were no reported injuries.
