The Bermuda Police Service, (BPS), is aware of a video circulating on social media, in which a male is heard threatening violence against members of the community including police officers.

An investigation to determine the source of the video has begun.

Early indications are the individual seen in the video is currently overseas.

That notwithstanding, the BPS is treating seriously with this matter.

We ask that should you receive the video in question, you not share it on and instead delete it.

Anyone with information on the individual featured in the video is asked to call 211, the main police number, 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.

Update: Monday, April 5th - The Bermuda Police Service (BPS), wishes to inform the public that the individual featured in the video clip making threats against the public and our officers, has been contacted and spoken with.

Having engaged with him, we believe his comments were misplaced and unintended.

He is currently being provided support and care by authorities in the U.K. and has expressed remorse for his actions.

The BPS has also spoken with the man’s relatives on island, who have explained the reasons for his behaviour.

Based on our investigations and information provided, the BPS is satisfied the individual does not pose a threat and there is no need for the public to be alarmed.
