We are aware that there has been wide reporting today of an incident that took place around 11pm on Wednesday, August 27th in the parking lot at the Swizzle Inn in Hamilton parish. The BPS can confirm that Senator Jeffrey Baron was involved in an altercation that resulted in the arrest of a 46 year old St. George’s man on suspicion of having care and control of a motor car while impaired. Enquiries are continuing into the matter and the police would like to speak with anyone who was at the Swizzle Inn or in the area at the time. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Sergeant B.T. Smith at 247-1442.
Man Arrested at Supreme Court
Police responded to a report of assault that took place at the Supreme Court today. A female lawyer was assaulted by a male litigant during a matter that was being heard in Chambers. The 59 year old Sandys parish man was arrested and is being detained at Hamilton Police Station. The female lawyer was taken to the hospital where she is being treated for facial injuries. A full investigation into this matter is underway.
Two Men Arrested in Sandys Parish
The Bermuda Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence on Beacon Hill Road in Sandys parish today. As a result a quantity of drugs was seized and two men, a 39 year old from Sandys and a 31 year old from Pembroke, were arrested and are currently in police custody. An investigation into this matter is underway and the police would like to thank area residents for their patience and understanding for any disruption the search may have caused.
Sudden Death Investigation Ongoing
The investigation into the sudden death of a 48 year old Southampton woman during the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 27th is ongoing. The 47 year old Southampton man subsequently taken into police custody has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
