Enquiries are ongoing into a reported disturbance at Southampton Rangers Sports Club around 9:15pm Sunday, May 18th. A 26 year old Southampton man injured during the incident was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for a non-life threatening laceration. However, he refuses to make a formal complaint to police at this time. Once again, any witnesses or persons with information regarding this matter should contact the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
Witness Appeal: Serious Injury Collision in Warwick
Police are still appealing for witnesses to a serious collision involving a motorcyclist and a pedestrian along Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Ten Pin Crescent that occurred around 12:15am Saturday, May 17th.
The pedestrian, a 25 year old Warwick man, has been flown overseas for further medical treatment of life threatening injuries. At last check the rider of the motorcycle, a 26 year old Warwick man, was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a broken pelvis and leg.
It now appears that several motorcycles were being ridden at high speed through the area and the pedestrian was struck by one of those motorcyclists. There is presently footage circulating online that appears to show the incident.
That footage is now in the hands of the investigating officer and will become a feature of the serious collision investigation. A number of persons were in the area at the time and police are keen to speak with those individuals. Man Arrested After Diverted Flight Lands at L. F. Wade International Airport
Around 9:55pm on Friday, May 16th first responders attended a report of a medical emergency at L.F. Wade International Airport after a Virgin Airlines flight en route from Antigua to the U.K. was diverted to Bermuda. Once landed, a U.K. national was arrested for drugs and taken to the hospital via ambulance where he remains. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
Update: Child Remains Investigation Ongoing
The Bermuda Police Service is still working with King Edward VII Memorial Hospital as well as church officials to find out the identity of the child whose remains were found on Friday, May 9th near to a grave site on Trinity Church Road in Hamilton parish. This is a delicate matter and as previously stated, foul play is not suspected.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend police officers arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Officers also arrested eight people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
