Burglary Advisory

Once again the Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries, particularly due to a recent series of incidents that are believed to be linked, involving stealing from residences in Pembroke and Paget.

Police patrols have been stepped up in an effort to apprehend those responsible and the assistance of observant area residents as well as Neighbourhood Watch groups is encouraged.

All residents are advised to make certain any air conditioning units are appropriately secured and that windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended.

Valuables should be secured out of sight, including any Christmas gifts. Take pictures and record serial numbers of all personal property, especially electronic equipment and jewellery - so that if they are stolen and later recovered, there is an accurate way of identifying them.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals or activity in their neighbourhoods to police by contacting 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity. The public is reminded that receiving stolen property is an offence punishable under the law.
