Man Arrested In Connection With Woody’s Assault - Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit are continuing their investigation into the assault of a 29 year old Pembroke man that occurred around 12:45am Thursday, December 6th 2012, seriously injuring him. Inquiries have confirmed that the incident did in fact take place outside Woody’s Bar & Restaurant in Sandys parish and a 21 year old Sandys parish man has been arrested in connection with the matter.

Two Vehicle Collision on Blue Hole Hill
Around 11am on Monday, December 10th police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish. It appears that a car was being driven along Blue Hole Hill and a motorcycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided. The motorcycle rider, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured as a result and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. There were no other injuries reported; however both vehicles were damaged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving
Around 2:15pm on Monday, December 10th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Avocado Lane. It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road when it collided with a wall. The car received extensive front end damage as a result; however there were no reported injuries. Traffic was temporarily diverted away from the scene and the driver, a 36 year old St. George’s man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Around 6:30pm on Saturday, December 8th police attended a reported two vehicle damage only collision on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Ledgelets Lane. It appears that a bus and a truck were being driven along Somerset Road when the vehicles collided. The truck driver, a 39 year old Warwick man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. There were no reported injuries; however both vehicles were damaged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested 11 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
