BPS Display at Harbour Nights Well Received

Thu, 2014-07-10

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has been active in our community for 135 years and at Harbour Nights last night the community saw the BPS revitalize its participation with an exhibition of police vehicles.

Over 50 police personnel (officers, Reserves, Cadets and support staff) came together to highlight the work of the Bermuda Police Service and engage with our community partners.

On display were various vehicles that assist the Bermuda Police Service in their jobs, some of which included The Guardian (police boat), roads policing vehicles and others.

The highlights of the night were the scores of children and tourist that engaged with police officers, with persons posing on the police motorcycles and engaged in conversation.

Overall the night was a success. This is a positive reflection on the hard work that the members of the BPS continue to do.

As we continue to celebrate 135 years of making Bermuda safer the Bermuda Police Service will be hosting various lead up events to Police Week 2014. The public can look forward to:

Bermuda Police Association Fun Day and Picnic – Saturday August 9th at Clearwater Beach.
Police Convoy – Wednesday October 1st around the island.
Police Gymkhana – Saturday October 4th.
Seniors Tea – Tuesday October 7th.
The Bermuda Police Service Tattoo featuring the Royal Bahamas Police Band Saturday October 11th.
