Burglary - At 11 this morning police attended a residence off Skyline Road in Smith's Parish as a result of a breaking and entering. Upon police arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated that someone had gained entry into her dwelling and made off with 27 inch Samsung flat screen TV and remote, a Wi-Fi router and modem, and a circuit breaker. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Eastern Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

We are continuing to advise the public to secure your property; lock ALL windows, doors, and secure air conditioning units. Please ensure all valuables are in a safe or safety deposit box as jewelry and electronics have been the main items stolen. Also, we are strongly suggesting that home owners take pictures of all valuables and record all serial numbers of electronic goods, in the event they are stolen and recovered those goods can be identified.

We are also asking for the public to keep an eye on individuals that are acting suspiciously in neighborhoods, as most of the recent burglaries have taken place during the day whilst occupants are at work.
