Sudden Death in Sandys Parish - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 83 year old Anson Simmons of Sandys parish. Mr. Simmons was found around 8:15am Friday, April 12th in an unresponsive state along the Railway Trail in Sandys parish after apparently going for his usual morning walk.
EMTs provided CPR at the scene; however Mr. Simmons was subsequently pronounced dead. There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Simmons on his passing.
Reported Serious Collision in Paget
Around 7:30pm on Thursday, April 11th police and first responders attended a reported serious two vehicle collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Harvey Road.
It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along South Road and a car was being driven along the same road when the vehicles collided.
The motorcycle rider, believed to be a 26 year old male visitor, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the victim was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
There were no other injuries reported; however both vehicles were damaged.
