Flight Diversion - At approximately 9:05pm on Sunday, March 31st first responders attended L.F. Wade International Airport regarding a flight diversion to Bermuda for medical reasons. Virgin Atlantic flight #76 (departed Miami and bound for Manchester, U.K.) containing about 315 passengers landed safely in Bermuda as a result of a sick child on board the plane. The child was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is presently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The remaining passengers were placed in local accommodations and they are expected to leave the island sometime today or tomorrow.
Car & Horse Collision
Meantime, at around 7:30pm on Sunday, March 31st police attended a collision between a car and a horse at the intersection of South Road and the Railway Trail in Paget. It appears that the vehicle was traveling in a westerly direction along South Road in Paget when a tan coloured horse bolted across the main road from the eastern side of the Railway Trail and collided with the front nearside of the car causing damage. The horse then made good its escape. Enquiries into this incident are on-going.
