Speeders Beware

As a result of the high numbers of individuals that have been caught speeding, court dates for the relevant offences have been set as far back as mid September. In response to this, Her Majesty's Courts (HMC) and the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) have started a "fast tracking system" for speeders above 80 km/h.

Robbery

At 10:50pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported robbery at the junction of Middle Road and Dudley Hill in Paget. The victim, a 16 year old Warwick boy stated that at 10:15pm he was riding his auxiliary cycle west on Middle Road when five young men on three orange Yamaha V50 auxiliary cycles rode alongside and stole his silver chain.

Injury RTC

At 3:40 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Overplus Lane in Sandy’s parish. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Middle Road when the rider, a 17 year old Sandy’s parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. As a result, the auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged.

Breaking & Entering

Around 8:55am on Monday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at Prospect Primary School in Devonshire. On arrival officers spoke with the deputy principal who stated that sometime between 3:30pm on Friday, July 1 and 7:45am on Monday, July 4, 2005 an unknown culprit gained entry into the school. The culprit stole a black Dell computer tower. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Update – Fight on M/V Bermudian

A 17 year old Smith’s parish girl and an 18 year old Pembroke woman are still in Police custody following the stabbing of a 20 year old Southampton woman onboard the M/V Bermudian on Friday night. Police are still following specific lines of inquiry as it relates to reports of firearms being brandished onboard the vessel.

At 10:30pm on Saturday, Police attended KEMH following a reported attempted robbery. The victim, a 67 year old Warwick man, stated that earlier that evening he picked up a male passenger from Tribe Road #3 in Southampton in his taxi. The passenger asked to be taken to a St.

Fight Onboard the Bermudian

Around 11:30pm on Friday, Police received several reports of fights onboard the M/V Bermudian. It appears that Bermynet was holding a cruise heading through the channel when Police received reports of individuals being stabbed onboard the vessel. Also, there were reports of weapons including firearms being brandished.
