Professional Standards

Role & Responsibilities

The Professional Standards Department (PSD) upholds and promotes the standards of professional behaviour for all Bermuda Police Service (BPS) staff.

Responsible for managing public complaints, the PSD also exercises increased vigilance within the BPS regarding all forms of potential corruption, through the application of vetting, policy and intelligence led activity.

This focus on professionalism helps to maintain the trust and confidence that the public has in the BPS and is reinforced by our Code of Ethics.

The PSD is led by a Chief Inspector and reports to the Superintendent of Corporate Services.
