Breaking & Entering

Tue, 2005-08-02

Around 2:10 this morning, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Palm Valley, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who stated that they awoke around 1:55am to find a woman in their home attempting to remove a Louis Vuitton purse. The complainants then detained the suspect, a 40 year old Southampton woman, until Police arrived.

Counterfeit Currency

The Bermuda Police Service continues to intercept counterfeit currency presently in circulation on the island, particularly Bermuda $50 and $100 notes.

Breaking & Entering

Mon, 2005-08-01

Around 7pm on Monday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Loyalty Estate, Sandy’s parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 4pm and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole $350 in cash and several items of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

At 6pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported assault at the Henry VIII restaurant on South Road in Southampton. It appears that the victim, a 47 year old Paget man, was a passenger in a car that was about to enter the parking area of the restaurant as 3 motorcycles were exiting. One of the cycles passed on the nearside of the car, nearly causing a collision.

Cup Match 2005

It was a somewhat busy Cup Match period for the Bermuda Police Service, as indicated by the table below (selected categories only); however, there were no major incidents to report during the holiday. The Bermuda Police Service would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their co-operation during Cup Match 2005.

Injury RTC

Around 2pm on Thursday, Police attended a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Montpelier Road involving two auxiliary cycles. It appears that both auxiliary cycles were traveling east on Middle Road when the second auxiliary cycle collided with the rear of the first, causing the rider to lose control.

Assault

Thu, 2005-07-28

Around 3:50 this morning, Police on mobile patrol traveling east on Watford Bridge were flagged down by three men who reported they were assaulted by two men on motorcycles.
