Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Hamilton Parish Collision [Updated]

There has been a serious road traffic collision on the North Shore Road, just west of Francis Patton Primary School, Hamilton Parish.

Details are limited at this time, but the incident involved a motorcycle and a car.

The roadway is now blocked while the scene is processed by Traffic Collision Investigators.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Radnor Road onto North Shore Road then, onto Harrington Sound Road.

Westbound traffic is being diverted onto Fractious Street at the junction with North Shore Road then, onto Wilkinson Avenue.

It is anticipated the roadway will remain closed for an extended period.

Update: Sunday, 17th March - Around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday March 16, 2024, police and first responders were dispatched to a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a motorcar on North Shore road Hamilton Parish.

Reports are, a male motorcyclist was traveling east on North Shore Road when he attempted to overtake a line of traffic.

He collided with a motorcar just west of the Francis Patton Primary School and was ejected from the bike into the roadway.

He sustained multiple serious injuries and was left unconscious.

Upon arrival at the scene police officers immediately commenced life saving procedures until Emergency Medical Services attended.

The motorcyclist was immediately transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

At last check, he was listed in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

The motorcar driver was not hurt but was left visibly shaken by the incident.

The roadway remained closed for approximately three hours while the scene was processed by Traffic Collision Investigators.
