Shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10th, 2023, police attended a report of an industrial accident at a construction site in St. George.
It was reported a 42-year-old male Portuguese National, was working at the site when he was struck by a steel beam.
EMTs attended and transported the injured male to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead, a short time later.
Officers from the Bermuda Police Service Forensic Support Unit visited and processed the scene.
Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.

Update: Thursday, 16th November - The Bermuda Police Service, (BPS), can now confirm the identity of the male Portuguese National who was fatally injured in an industrial accident which occurred last week, as 42-year-old Nelson Macedo.
Mr. Macedo was reportedly struck by a steel-beam shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10th, while he worked at a construction site, in St. George.
He was transported via ambulance to hospital for treatment for his injuries. Unfortunately, he passed away a short time later.
An autopsy is anticipated in due course.
