18-Year-Old Rider Hospitalised After Collision With Van

Around 1:05pm Tuesday, 14th March 2023, a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a van occurred on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish, near the junction with Broken Hill Road.

It appears that the motorcycle was being ridden east along Harrington Sound Road and the van was being driven out of a driveway to head west along Harrington Sound Road when the vehicles collided.

The motorcycle rider, now understood to be an 18-year-old St. George’s woman, sustained leg and facial injuries.

She was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check remained hospitalised with injuries that were considered serious, but not life threatening.

The van driver, said to be a 70-year-old Warwick man, was not hurt.

Traffic in the area was diverted for approximately three hours, while the collision scene and damaged vehicles were processed.
