Man Shot & Injured in North Hamilton: Investigation Underway

A 27-year-old-man is currently warded at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, (KEMH), receiving attention for gunshot wounds sustained in an early morning shooting incident.

About 1:15 am today, Monday 29th November, 2021, police responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of Dundonald Street and Court Street, Pembroke.

Initial investigations revealed that a firearm had been discharged and the scene was forensically processed.

A short time later, a 27-year-old man attended KEMH for treatment of a gunshot injury, which is not considered to be life threatening.

It is now confirmed the two incidents are connected.

Detective Chief Inspector, Peter Stableford of the Bermuda Police Service, Serious Crime Unit, said, “If you were in the Court Street area around the time of this incident, or you may have information about it, we are appealing for you to please get in contact with us. Whomever is responsible, had to get ready somewhere and you could have information vital to the investigation.

We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who would have seen two persons on a motorcycle who rode along Dundonald Street around 1:15 this morning. We urge anyone out driving a vehicle with a dashboard camera or who lives in the area and may have CCTV recordings, to check their footage from between 1:00 am and 1:30 am today. Please contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739, 211 or the confidential Crime Stoppers number 800-8477.”
