The rider involved, said to be a 28 year old Smith’s parish man, was understood to be traveling north along Frog Lane when he crashed into the corner of the triangular traffic island just prior to the junction and then struck the sidewalk on Palmetto Road.

The 28-year-old man was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious injuries, including head trauma. It was later confirmed that he had been admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.
