Robbery

At 1:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported robbery at the International Sports Shop on Bermudiana Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 20 year old Pembroke woman (salesperson), who stated that at 12:35pm that day a man entered the store, greeted her and went behind the cash register. The Pembroke woman asked him what he was doing and attempted to get him away from the register, at which point the suspect threatened her with a screwdriver before taking an unknown amount of cash and making good his escape. The suspect is described as a light brown skinned male, approximately 6’2” tall with brown eyes and some facial hair. He was wearing a grey hooded sweat suit top, black sweatpants and a grey helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for the male rider of an orange Yamaha V80 or V50 motorcycle that was traveling east with the cycle involved in the fatal collision on Harbour Road in Warwick around 10:15pm on Saturday, March 19, 2005 which resulted in the death of 15 year old Krystle Babon. Anyone with any information is asked to contact WPC Francilla Henry on 299-4302 or 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend, there were 6 people arrested for impaired driving and 7 incidents of breaking and entering (3 in Pembroke, 1 in Paget, 1 in Sandy’s parish, 1 in Warwick and 1 in Devonshire). There were also 19 damage only road traffic collisions and 9 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.

The Bermuda Police Service will hold a press conference at 3:30pm today at the Reserve Police Headquarters in Prospect regarding the ongoing investigation into the missing Cooper twins. All media are invited to attend.
