Theft

Around 10:25am on Thursday, Police attended a reported theft at Cecile’s on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with employees of the store who stated that earlier a man entered Cecile’s and removed approximately $300 in cash from the cash register. The suspect then made good his escape. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male wearing a thick jacket with the word “Rookie” printed on the left front and a black helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

At 2 this morning, Police attended a reported theft from Flanagan’s Irish Pub on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 33 year old Southampton woman, who stated that she was at the bar socializing with a friend when she rested her handbag on a table. However, when she went to retrieve the bag to leave, it was missing. The handbag contained a cellular phone and other personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise parents to be vigilant about their child’s use of the internet (especially teenagers). We are aware that some young people locally are creating websites displaying pictures of their friends engaged in inappropriate activities and/or creating websites that provide access to inappropriate material.
