Breaking & Entering

At 2:40pm on Monday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Warwick Lane, Warwick residence. On arrival officers arrested the suspect, a 31 year old Warwick man, who was detained by the complainant. The complainant stated that around 2pm he was at home when he heard footsteps and went to investigate, finding the suspect in his kitchen. The men exchanged words and the suspect fled the house on foot. The complainant pursued the suspect with a fireplace shovel, and caught up with him on Warwick Lane. At this point the complainant noticed that the suspect had a knife in one hand and a chisel in the other. As the suspect continued to brandish the knife and chisel, the complainant struck him with the shovel, causing him to drop them. After being arrested the 31 year old Warwick man was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Shoplifting

Around 3:10pm on Monday, Police attended a reported shoplifting incident at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick. On arrival officers observed several Lindo’s employees detaining the suspect, a 34 year old Hamilton parish man. He was subsequently arrested. The store manager stated that the suspect was observed stealing items from the store. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
