Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 58 year old William Massop. It appears that Mr. Massop went swimming off the North Shore at Spanish Point Park in Pembroke around 5:50pm on Monday. He was located by a member of the public a short time later on the sea floor. The body of the Pembroke man was brought to land and CPR performed, but the victim was unresponsive. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 5:57pm. There were no suspicious circumstances.

Weekend Activity

Over the Queen’s Birthday holiday weekend (from 9pm Friday, June 10 - 9am Tuesday, June 14) there were 10 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 incidents of breaking and entering (1 in Pembroke, 1 in Devonshire, 1 in Paget and 1 in Sandy’s parish). There were also 24 damage only road traffic collisions and 7 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
